Inspired by Women’s History Month — this spotlight series celebrates the diversity which drives our success, fosters strong values, and uplifts every individual to become the collective heart of Annalect culture. Join us in recognizing the talent, inspiration, and valuable insights contributing to our vibrant and inclusive community.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
My favorite activities outside of work involve my dogs or music. On the weekends I take my border collies sheep-herding on a farm in Georgia. It’s incredible to see them in their natural element! I love to sing, and play 5 instruments — piano, guitar, ukulele, glockenspiel, and harmonium — in a smorgasbord of musical styles.
What is your proudest professional achievement?
Can I say two things? I lead new feature initiatives for one of Annalect’s accounts. I recently onboarded over 60 users into a custom PDF-pulling tool, coded in Python. It felt amazing to lead the development and implementation of something that had such a huge impact on efficiency and client satisfaction.
I’m also proud of creating the Powerful Together Inclusion Series here at Annalect. It’s an event series that helps our people connect on a personal level, through a variety of extracurricular discussions and activities — covering everything from music to pets.
In celebrating Women’s History Month, who or what is your biggest inspiration?
Frida Kahlo! Her creativity and fearless self-expression inspire me daily. Her out-of the-box paintings push me toward deeper creative expression. Her personal fortitude encourages me to be my authentic self, fearlessly showing up in the world as I truly am.
What message do you have for women who may be early in their career and looking to grow into positions of leadership in their schools, workplaces and communities?
Don’t let fear or indecision stop you from sharing your ideas. No idea is ever bad or wrong … just an exploration on a journey toward finding a path or solution.
Lead with a collaborative nature, show up with an open mind, and always be willing to learn.
